At GERL, with the help of polymer/chemical technologies, we have developed polymers that have the similar performance needed for bottle processing & handling. These polymers create the opportunity to close the loop for the plastic waste hence called Circular polymers.
The circular polymer has the following properties similar to Virgin plastic:
– Melt Flow Index
– Impact Strength
– Odourless
When a polymer is being used for bottle manufacturing, the following performance is desired from it:
Any recycled polymer should have similar melt behaviour/melt strength to virgin polymer. Circular polymer is being designed to provide the same MFI/Melt strength which not only increases the efficiency of production but reduces the rejections.
Bottle made out of virgin polymer poses some critical mechanical performance which is desirable to brand owners to fill their material, transport, and Store. Circular polymer matches the mechanical properties of virgin polymers to enhance the durability and the performance of the bottle without any breakages and leakage.
The circular polymer has none little odour and contamination, which does not impart any smell to bottles manufactured with it.
In a nutshell, it can be summarized that-
Circular Polymer = Virgin Polymer
The circular polymer can partially or completely replace the virgin polymer for the application of bottling/packaging.
